Time: Is Emotional

Time: Is Emotional

This is the first entry to the "Fuegos Artificiales" journal, a full journey into the mind of Mr.J, which now is known as "The Realm of i".

Time: Is Emotional

The next is an extract of the unconscious journals of Mr. J., circa 2020, 4 years before the accident.

Time, presence, and action define how one perceives the passage of time. It is not felt linearly; instead, time is emotional. Human perception alters the way time passes, forming an alternative structure in memory. This raises intriguing questions:

Let us consider time as a formula. If:

  • T represents time
  • P represents perception
  • A represents actions
  • M represents memory

we could propose that:

T = f ( P , A , M ) (Time as a function of perception, actions, and memory) T = f(P, A, M) \quad \text{(Time as a function of perception, actions, and memory)}

This suggests that the way we perceive and act influences how time feels, and the memory of those moments feeds back into the cycle. It also raises questions:

  • Is the memory of time real?
  • Is the present merely a construction of past actions?
  • How can someone interpret time?
  • Should time always be eternal, or is it perception and point of view that create time?

Would absolute inertia in nothingness be timeless yet simultaneously moving and static? These paradoxical ideas challenge conventional notions of time, encouraging deeper contemplation.

Creativity and Mental Flow

Drawing becomes easier after writing ideas. Why is this so? Perhaps there is a mental clog—a waste of the day—that needs to be cleared for creativity to connect with visual acuity. Creativity feels less fluid when constrained by goals. Free forms, on the other hand, tend to be more interesting.

However, grasping the hazy forms that appear in the mind remains one of the most complex tasks. Rarely do the images or ideas in the mind express themselves fully. The best works often seem to develop autonomously, as though they possess their own intelligence. Yet, they are undeniably driven by perception.

The Visionary Challenge

The Visionary Challenge

Would there ever be a day when one can see a complete image, formed entirely from imagination? Could there be a moment when the final work perfectly captures the hazy perceptions of the mind? These questions reflect the struggle of bridging the gap between internal visions and physical creations.

The world within the mind is a fluid realm of colours and sensations. Focusing this fluidity into a clear vision is herculean. Translating it into a physical form is an even greater challenge.
